Massage is one of the most ancient and universal healing arts. It eases away stress, tension, muscular aches, and the many pains of modern living, giving you more energy and a better outlook on life.
At Integrative Bodywork each Massage Therapy session is tailored to the particular needs of the individual. The sessions have a Swedish Massage base but may include other massage techniques where appropriate. Sarah does not offer deep tissue or myofascial release work, but may employ firmer touch where needed at times. Essential oils (optional) are used to enhance the therapeutic benefits. In a warm, peaceful atmosphere one experiences the time and space for deep rejuvenation on different levels. Hot towels are offered at the end of the massage for an extra level of relaxation (optional).
These are some of the many health concerns a massage therapist can address:
Stress
Back, neck and shoulder pain
Chronic stiffness
Overuse Syndromes
Headaches
Insufficient circulation
Pregnancy discomforts
Body image issues
Recovery from illness or injury
Fibromyalgia
Grieving
Normally sessions are done on a comfortable massage table, but a massage chair can be used if lying on a table is difficult. An important element, that can be conducive to deep relaxation for some people is silence, allowing the mind to quiet and the experience of touch to be received more fully. Sarah takes her cues from her clients allowing them to sink into a deeply quiet, receptive place if that is what is needed. Others find connecting and sharing verbally to be a valuable part of their experience.
